Coinciding with the International Competition of Roses in Barcelona, Gran Hotel Havana offers its first springtime gastronomic days, dedicated to Flowers. A colourful proposal in a month where flowers are the protagonists:

For yet another year, our Hotel is collaborating with the Barcelona Town Hall in organising the International Competition of new Roses in Barcelona. A contest that brings together the best creators of roses worldwide.
Following tradition, the Competition will be held on the 7th and 8th May 2009 in the precincts of the Parque Cervantes in Barcelona.
Our Hotel will host members of the international Jury as well as participants from all over the world.
Gran Hotel Havana, official hotel of the Barcelona Marathon 2009 hosted a large number of runners who wanted to enjoy the advantages offered by our Hotel (special breakfast, transfer to the starting point of the race, fresh fruit, dried fruit and water in the bedrooms, diets especially studied for the athletes, massages, etc.…).
The Marathon’s presentation ceremony to the media took place at our lounges a few days before the big race.
On route our Hotel arranged two animation points (one at Paseo de Gracia and the other at Plaza Catalunya) where our patrons’ friends and relatives could follow the race whilst enjoying a coffee with rolls, some light refreshment, etc. Our marquees were also livened with music by Jazz/Swing, a genre that is now one of our identity marks in the City of Barcelona.
The Gran Hotel Havana will again be the Official Hotel at the next Barcelona Marathon to be held on the 7th March 2010.
Hotel Havana now has its menus ready especially prepared for company Christmas party lunches (up to 110 people in a private room).
It also has the typical Catalan gastronomy dishes for families and friends to celebrate these traditional and memorable dates of Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year, in an elegant and comfortable setting, without all the bother and hassle of having to celebrate them at home.
Besides this it has prepared an unforgettable New Year’s Eve dinner, with live music and free bar to welcome in the New Year.
Lastly, it proposes a place to meet up and celebrate Epiphany/Three Kings’ day, with an attractive and accessible menu for adults and children.
For its world sales meeting, this year Westinghouse has chosen the refurbished rooms of Hotel Havana.
For three days, delegates from all over the world stayed at our Hotel, and enjoyed the new facilities with which we have refurbished our convention rooms.
Our prize winner stayed the week-end of the 17th October at the winning room of the Competition. She was the first to try out the new furnishings with which all the rooms in Hotel Havana will be equipped.
We interviewed the winner upon her arrival at our Hotel and she told us she lives in Sitges, a town on the coast quite near Barcelona and that she discovered the competition when surfing Internet since she is a regular customer of Hoteles Silken and was looking for accommodation slightly out of the ordinary for some friends who were coming to Barcelona. After enjoying a relaxing massage in her room, a romantic dinner at our restaurant and a cocktail at our Piano Bar during the Saturday Cocktail & Swing, we hope she takes back with her a pleasant memory of her stay with us.
Legendary Catalan chocolate maestro Enric Rovira has created the new welcome chocolates which the hotel lays on to thank guests who have made their room reservations via its website. The chocolates represent the typical hexagonal floor tiles created by Antoni Gaudí which pave Barcelona’s Paseo de Gràcia and come in a personalised box produced exclusively for the Gran Hotel Havana.
As is now traditional, the Gran Hotel Havana is to provide sponge fingers and hot chocolate for the kids’ party organised by Pro Eixample and Cor Eixample to mark the start of the school year. The event is to be held next 27 September at 5.30 pm in the Jaume Perich garden inside the block at Gran Via, 657.
In order to continue enhancing the service it offers to its customers, the Gran Hotel Havana is revamping its website to provide more information about facilities in its meeting rooms together with other services. This means that users can easily find photomontages and information about menus for family celebrations and business events alike
