  • Event: Belgian Beer Weekend

It has become a real pilgrimage for the beers lovers: During one Weekend each year, the Grand Place of Brussels is fully dedicated to the beer. Small and big breweries present their own beer, the entrance is free, but not the tasting…of course!

  • Festival: Festival Design September

Design festival is an event around furniture, objects, industrial products, graphic design, and architecture.  During this event, exhibitions, conferences and tours are organized. This year, Design September takes special attention to the Belgian designers, but also to the international issues. There are events located in several museums of the city.

 

From 9 September 2010 until 1 October 2010 at various locations in Brussels.

  • Mobility Week and Car Free Sunday 2010

The Mobility Week takes place in Brussels and all over Europe, at the same period. One week during everyone can try alternative ways of transport: train, cycle, streetcar, buses, skates…

The center of this meeting will be the Car Free Sunday on 19 September 2010 on the city center of Brussels and on the whole territory of the Brussels Region. Cars are tot allowed during this special day. Vehicles authorized to circulate in Brussels will have to respect the maximal speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The whole Brussels Region will be closed for traffic from 9 am till 7 pm, but the public transport of the STIB and De Lijn will be available for free.

 

From Thursday 16 to Wednesday 22 September 2010. The Car Free Sunday will take place on 19 September.

  • Demonstration: Balloon’s Day Parade

This is a big parade of huge balloons taking the form of comic strips or cartoon heroes, following the example of the parade which is taking place in New York since the 20s.  The edition of this year is part of the Comic Strip Festival 2010.

 

On Sunday 12 September 2010 in the centre of Brussels.

  • Exhibition: PassiveHouse

PassiveHouse is the exhibition for both passive and energy-low building with over 100 exhibitors.

What is a passive house? Is it an house more comfortable than another? Is a passive house good for the environment but also my wallet? Specialists from the sector will try to provide you with the answers to those questions.
